Nov 01, 2024Nov 01, 2024

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Mecklenburg County has a new way to deliver health care, including Narcan and COVID-at-home test kits.

Kiosks, which act like a medical vending machine, offer at-home tests, condoms, and a potentially life-saving drug that can reverse the effects of an overdose. All items are free inside the kiosk.

The first vending machine is installed in the Ella B. Scarborough Community Resource Center on Stitt Road in Charlotte. It will be up and running on Tuesday, October 29.

The second location will be installed outside the Woodard Community Resource Center on Freedom Drive next month.
